Have you ever thought you might like to go it alone? It really is tempting isn't it? A nice lie in, make a coffee for the boss, then commute all the way to work on the sofa in your dressing gown. Pub for lunch? Oh if you insist!
With no illusions about the hard work involved to make it work, but this pretty utopia still naively sat in the back of my brain I decided the time was right to make the jump into starting a freelance Graphic Design business.
I have been a professional graphic designer now for 5 years, and in that time I have experienced a hugely diverse range of different businesses and people. I have had hands-on experience working in-house in a small/medium sized company, working in an agency, working with agencies, working with startups and working direct on freelance solo client projects.
With all this behind me I felt equipped to go it alone and have been really looking forward to 'calling the shots' from a business perspective just as much as a creative perspective for a long time.
With the first few client projects coming in, but still plenty of free time I am going to be taking the opportunity to work on some personal projects, and start developing some good habits. Look out for frequent updates on the Blackwolf Facebook and Instagram pages and (hopefully!) regular blog posts too.
This blog will be an aggregation of my personal journey as a freelancer as well as opinions, insights and useful information I gather along the way. Stay tuned!
